Helping Alopecia Trust
Helping Alopecia Trust (HAT) has many aims and objectives all with the common goal of raising awareness and offering support to those who suffer from Alopecia areata and those around them.  The main aims are detailed below To provide information to anyone who requires it.  Helping Alopecia Trust (HAT) can produce an informative/educational pack detailing the various forms of Alopecia, the symptoms and treatments along with various personal accounts and other sources of information to all who seek it. To educate people in close contact with those diagnosed with Alopecia Areata.  One aspect of education would involve producing and distributing informational leaflets in various social areas - workplaces, school staff rooms, sports clubs etc, where individuals are given the opportunity to educate themselves so that they can feel more relaxed when coming into contact with sufferers of Alopecia Areata To offer one to one support through telephone, e-mail and where required, counselling.  Helping Alopecia Trust (HAT) aims to compile a profile of counselling services from all areas within Northern Ireland, providing contact details and arranging meetings for individuals requiring the services of a trained counsellor. To create a network of support groups.  With the assistance of those diagnosed with Alopecia Areata and/or their families, HAT hopes to create a network of support groups that shall meet regularly in various towns and villages across Northern Ireland.  The groups will be open to those who suffer from Alopecia Areata, their families and friends - in fact anyone who feels they can contribute to the group in their own personal way.
